You must first work out how much energy you need before making the decision to buy any of the components needed for a solar powered off-grid system. First determine an WATT HOUR figure (Wh).Once this is done we can begin the task of determining the size of a solar power system.
A typical 2KW solar PV system would comprise the following:
10 x Kyocera 200 Watt PV Panels, 24V
2 x DC Circuit breaker(s) for Solar Panels.
1 x "Studer" Compact 4000 48V Inverter (48 volt, 4000 watt DC-AC inverter)
12 x Fullriver AGM "Absorbent Glass Matt" Sealed Photovoltaic Batteries amp hour capacity)

The power generated by the 2000W of solar panels is stored in twelve batteries and converted to 240V AC mains electricity via a 48V inverter. All of the following appliances and gadgets can be run (though not all at once!)
